Thomas Newton Denison

Thomas Denison believed to have married 3 times:
Lodema Decker
Hannah Mary Palmetier (Ward?) d. Oct 6, 1876, age 34
Third ?

Source: Sharon Poole Sherrick

Further from Sharon:
Thomas Dennison had probably 4 wives, 3 of them being Lodena Decker,
Hannah Mary Palmatier and Mary Ward. The interweaving of these families
resulted in my maternal grandmother having several of what she called
"double cousins".

My grandmother, Elva Lucina Ward Van Cleve was the great-grandaughter
of Michael Decker and Elizabeth Bovee.

My grandmother's great-aunt on her mother's side was Lodena Decker.

My grandmother's aunt on her father's side was Mary Ward.

My grandmother's second cousin once removed was Hannah Mary Palmatier
because Hannah Mary Palmatier's mother was Cornelia Bovee who was the
sister of Michael Decker's wife, Elizabeth Bovee.

868. William H Decker

RESEARCH NOTE: There is much confusion about William H. Decker, appearing that he married two women named Jennie, both children pre-date his marriage to Jennie Freeman, Jennie is listed as having 0 children in a later census, and there are two gravesites in New York for Jennie Decker, wife of William H. Decker. Would be helpful to find marriage information for William Decker to Jennie Freeman about 1883 to 1885 (or later).

Obituary: Jefferson County Journal 10-1-1924

Isaac W. Decker

Isaac W. Decker died at the Soldiers' Home in Bath, Sept 24, aged 86 years. Mr. Decker, who was making his home at Hotel Adams for a time and was not feeling well, was advised by his physician to enter some hospital in which he would receive more careful nursing. Being an old veteran he decided to go to the Solders' home in Bath. Last week Tuesday morning in Freeman's taxicab and accompanied by L. T. Bartlett, he made the journey. He was very weak when he reached his destination and died the next morning. Diabetes was the cause of his death.

Mr. Decker was born in Ellisburg Jan. 8, 1838, the second of four sons born to Mr. and Mrs. John Decker who settled in Ellisburg in 1823. His mother was Phoebe Sturdevant. Isaac spent his early life on a farm and during the Civil war enlisted in Co. K, 24th Regt. N.Y. Vol., Capt. Barney's company. In 1865 he married Eliza Boyt Kibling. to them one son was born, Edward J., whose home is in Denver, Colo.

From 1866 to 1872, Mr. Decker was proprietor of a meat market in Ellisburg, and later was a produce dealer. He was also commissioner of highways and at one time excise commissioner of his native town. In late years Mr. Decker has made his home with his son in Colorado, making frequent extended visits east to visit old friends. He was a member of DeAlton Cooper Post, G. A. R. He was a most agreeable gentleman to meet and made many friends.

The funeral was held in Ellisburg Sept. 26, with burial in the Ellisburg cemetery by the side of his wife who died several years ago. Rev. B. L. Waters officiated.

Likely that she married ? Hoag and had three children. Three children (William, Elsie, and Ray Hoag) are living with Gilbert & Sarah Graves in Oklahoma, all born in Kansas, in 1910 census, identified as grandchildren. Ages are 20 to 15, which would put the youngest as born in 1895, just before the source indicated that Florence died in 1897.
