Jacob P Decker

Evidence suggests that Jacob was married before Sarah Bovee, and had a child Minard Decker by this first wife.

Phillip Warner Will:

> The will of Phillip Warner, father of Anna (Hannah)
> Warner who md. Phillip Bovee, dated 10 Jun 1827, lists
> dependents:
>
> Abraham Warner
> Henry Warner
> Catharine [Bovee], wife of Robert C. Van Deusen
> Elisabeth [Bovee], wife of Michael Decker
> Sarah [Bovee], wife of Jacob Decker
> Cornelia [Bovee], wife of Peter Parementier
> Laura [Lana], wife of Samuel Young

> Catura, wife of John Henry, residing in Middleburgh, Schoharie Co.
> (all of full age)
> Michael M. Decker
> Jacob P. Decker
> Abraham B. Decker (is this the one on the headstone?)

< This is the one on the tombstone

> John H. Decker
> Philip Decker
> (infants)
>
> There are two Bovee daughters listed as married to
> Deckers:
>
> Michael M. Decker is likely the Mirand Decker, son of
> Michael Decker and Elizabeth Bovee - suggesting
> Michael Mirand Decker as full name.
> NOTE: Samuel Decker, b. about 1825 is not listed.

I believe that means he must have been b. after 10 June 1827, otherwise
he would have been on the will, since Philip Warner says he lists all his
legal heirs.

>
> Mirand Decker, expected son of Jacob P. Decker would
> not be listed as he would not be the son of Sarah
> Bovee, but rather than by a first (unknown) wife.
>
> Children I have listed of Michael Decker & Elizabeth
> Bovee and Jacob Decker and Sarah Bovee born 1827 &
> before:
>
> Jacob E. Decker (b. abt 1824) - Jacob
> (unknown) Decker (b. abt 1826) - Jacob

unknown Decker = Abram B. Decker - Jacob
John H. Decker b. abt. 1826 - Jacob
Philip Decker b. bef. 10 Jun 1827
(source: will of Philip Warner, which presumably listed the children of
Michael first, and then the children of Jacob in birth order.)

> Minard Decker (b. abt 1824) - Michael
> Samuel Decker (b. about 1826) - Michael
